I couldn’t let volunteer’s week pass without saying a big thank you to all those people who volunteer across our town. With the terrible events of recent months, the volunteer work that many Harlow residents have done have been all the more vital, providing emergency food parcels and doing shopping for residents who are shielding. I am always so impressed by how generous people in Harlow are and what a fantastic community spirit that there is and at a time like this we see that so much!
However, I would also like to thank those who have taken on the organising of volunteers and in particular Jemma and her team at Rainbow services. They have been involved with the organising of over fifty volunteers across the town to do both regular tasks and also emergency ones.
Clearly we are a long way away from returning to normal and there is still more to be done before we do. However, I know that throughout the recovery process the residents of Harlow will once again come together to support each other and to show that we have more in common than that which divides us.
Once again to everyone, thank you for what you do!
