The first week in June marks national volunteers week and significantly the second one since this terrible pandemic started and all the volunteers who support our town’s communities became more important than ever.
I want to take this opportunity once again to thank the army of volunteers who have worked so hard across Harlow in a variety of different roles throughout this terrible time, but also through all times. As someone who now works in the charity sector myself I know first-hand how valuable their contribution is to the work we do.
So whatever you have done over the past 12 months, from delivering food parcels to those shielding, supporting those getting their jabs, to supporting people with their mental health and to our carers (particular shout out to young carers who I have the pleasure of volunteering with) and anyone else that I have missed out, I say a huge thank you for everything that you do.
