Little Parndon & Hare Street Ward Councillor
Maggie has been a local councillor in Harlow since 1996. Serving her community in the Harlow Common Ward has been an honour and a privilege for Maggie.
Since Maggie has been a councillor, she has undertaken many Committee roles, for instance – Chair of Planning, Licensing, Environment and various working panels. Maggie has been both Secretary and Whip of the Labour Group.
Maggie is very proud and honoured to have been Chair of Harlow Council – in 2012/13, 2018/19 and 2020/2021.
Cllr Hulcoop was also Vice-Chair 2017/18 and again in 2019/20.
Serving the residents of Harlow and being able to flag up what a tremendous town Harlow is, with a really promising and exciting future has been a great privilege. Maggie believes that Harlow has many really gifted and talented people in Harlow in so many forms and whatever their age.
Maggie wishes to continue serving her community in Harlow Common; to work within the Council, paving the way through policies and planning to ensure that our communities have the very best way of life possible and; to have diversity, equality and cohesion together as a town that has a big heart for those who need a caring and helping hand.
Outside of her role as a Councillor, Maggie is a youth worker at her church, Potter Street Baptist Church. Maggie also likes reading, seeing shows at the Playhouse and spending time with her family.
