It is with great sadness that Harlow Labour Party learnt of the death of Councillor Frances Mason this morning after a short battle with the Covid-19 virus.
Frances was a formidable intellect, a campaigner for equality and fairness, detailed in her approach and an unsurpassed hard worker. She had a great sense of humour, she was kind and her compassion shone through in everything she did.
Frances will be sorely missed by all those who knew her and loved her.
Those who knew Frances felt themselves lucky to do so. She was a colleague, a comrade and a friend.
Frances has been Harlow Labour’s Secretary for a few years and in that time she performed her duties in the role with honesty, openness and integrity. She used to say she was transparent – and she was. Frances worked incredibly hard for our CLP and we were grateful to her for her hard work, professionalism, and friendship.
Our condolences go out to Frances’ family.
