Netteswell Ward Councillor
Shannon Jezzard is one of three Labour Councillors currently representing the ward of Netteswell. She has been a Councillor since November 2018, after being elected in a by-election.
Having moved to Harlow from East London as a young child, Shannon loves the town she grew up in, and endeavours to promote what Harlow has to be proud of; such as the sculpture collection, the Town Park, Pet’s Corner, and the Harlow Playhouse. She is passionate about social justice and equality, and dedicates a lot of her time and capacity to fighting the austerity which has a direct impact on the people living in Harlow. As the youngest member on the Council, Shannon strives to represent those who feel as though their voices are not regularly heard, as well as making sure she’s held accountable for her decisions in her remit as a Councillor.
At her first Full Council meeting, Shannon was proud to present a motion against the Essex County Council library closures, and continues to support the campaign to save Harlow’s libraries, as well as regularly attending community events, meeting other representatives within the town, listening to residents and taking on board their concerns.
Outside of her role as a Councillor, Shannon works full time as a Digital Marketer. In her rare but spare time she enjoys trips to the cinema, pints at her local, gigs, plays and the odd night out. She’s also a fan of Arsenal FC (COYG).
